£SOLD
image_pdfimage_print

A rare bronze mantel clock of small proportions.
The clock movement cover is inscribed with the dedication, Burgers, Dill, Kampmann, Kesten, Nök, Scherkamp zum 11 X 1906.

Resembling the later Art Deco movement, the geometric design of this clock was rather avant garde in the first decade of the 1900s.

The bronze pair of falcons are beautifully sculpted. The 3-inch dial has gilt painted Arabic numerals and individually-styled matching feather hands.

The German drum 8-day movement is signed for Lenzkirch. Lenzkirch had substantial factories in Badenia, Germany and at their peak in around 1900 were producing around 60 clocks per day with over 600 employees.
The movement is signed with Lenzkirch 1 million, indicating that over 1 million clocks had been produced by this time.
