24-hour dial wall clock by Dent, London
A timepiece wall clock by Dent of London from the second quarter of the 20th century, very unusually with a 24-hour dial.
The quality 8-day movement is signed with Dent’s trademark triangle and the serial number 68358. It has a lever platform escapement with a screw down brass dust cover. The gearing for the hour wheel is such that a complete revolution takes 24 hours rather than the usual 12.
The 12-inch dial is in excellent original condition, also signed and numbered, and with Arabic numerals within an outer minute track. A regulation slot sits just below Dent’s triangle trademark.
The dial is set into a tapered oak dial surround, the cast brass bezel fitted with flat glass, and with a good catch.
Overall diameter 15 inches (38cms)
