An English Regency timepiece which exudes timeless elegance.
Retaining its original mercury gilding, the banded ormolu drum sits on a scroll on the restored statuary pure white marble base. The base has an applied well-cast floral gilt swag, and the case is set on four high quality engine-turned ormolu toupee feet.
The 4½ inch gilt dial has black painted Roman numerals on a polished chapter ring, with an engine-turned centre. A subsidiary dial below the XII shows faux seconds. The dial is set within a finely milled gilt bronze bezel.
Of particular note are the very fine, heart-shaped steel hands.
The 8-day chain fusee timepiece movement is regulated by its fine and original pendulum. The pendulum has a locking lever for transportation.
