Giant Carriage Clock Timepiece

A rare French gilt brass giant carriage timepiece, dated c.1900.

The case stands 10 inches tall (handle down). It has well-cast columns and handle to match, and decorative low-relief frieze to the base and below the carrying handle. The beveled glasses to all sides are in excellent condition, as is the gilding throughout.

The 8-day movement retains its original silvered lever platform escapement. The backplate is stamped CH VCNE, PARIS 45957.

The white enamel dial is in perfect original condition, with bold Roman numerals. It is signed for E. White, Paris, London, the original retailer.
