A fine early engraved carriage clock by Henry Marc of Paris, dated c.1850.
The smaller than average one piece hand-engraved case has been newly regilded.
Stamped with the serial number 20975 and the oval trademark for Henry Marc to the backplate, the 8-day movement strikes the hours and the passing of the half hour on a coiled gong. The large ‘Jules’ type platform has Marc’s signature helical hairspring and jewelled lever escapement.
Heavy bevelled glasses to all sides, with a large top glass for viewing the platform.
Overhauled and guaranteed for 3 years.
