A rare and unusual mid-late 20th century timepiece novelty desk clock by the renowned Swiss makers, Jaeger leCoultre.
The angled hands appear to be offset from the centre. The inner section is black and melts into the black dial background; the outer gilt dagger-style hand contrasts. Once accustomed to it, it is surprisingly easy to read the time.
The quality 15-jewelled LeCoultre Calibre 222 8-day spring-wound mechanism has a lever balance escapement and is neatly contained within a brass cover, with a built-in key. Serviced and guaranteed for 3 years.
The simple brass case is fitted with a convex acrylic glass, signed Jaeger leCoultre, and with an “8” to denote the duration of the movement.
