Large Fusee timepiece Mantel clock W&H
A stunning and imposing antique large-scale wooden bracket clock in the French style. The case has a matt off-white finish adorned with finely cast lacquered brass mounts. Although large, the proportions are such that the clock has an eye-catching elegance.
The clock dates from around the turn of the 1900s and was originally retailed by Sharman D. Neill in Belfast, who has signed the dial.
The 8-day timepiece chain-driven fusee movement is signed by Winterhalter & Hofmeier, a German manufacturer of quality clocks of the late Victorian period.
The case has glazed side windows allowing the quality movement to be seen.
The dial has a silvered chapter ring with a matted gilt centre and original matching black steel hands.
