Miniature Mother of Pearl Alarm Clock
A very pretty boudoir French timepiece alarm clock dating from the early-mid twentieth century, standing only 3½ inches high with the handle up.
The case is clad in mother-of-pearl rectangles to the sides and base, and quarter panes to the front around the dial. These give the clock an almost translucent appearance. The bow handle and dial bezels are silver-plated. There is only the very smallest loss of mother of pearl on the top which has an old repair, and is barely perceptible.
The white enamel dial is in perfect condition, with blue Arabic numerals, the minute track with gilt dots as five-minute markers.
Below this dial is the smaller alarm dial.
Matching blued steel hands.
The movement is wound from the back with an inbuilt key.
The movement dustcover at the back is marked with hand set knobs for MOUVEMENT, REVEIL, and one winding key – clockwise to wind the movement, anti-clockwise to wind the alarm.
