A very nice example of a small solid silver carriage clock, complete with its original silk- and velvet-lined leather carrying case, all in exceptionally good condition.
The clock bears a Birmingham hallmark for 1901, stamped onto the handle, door and base.
The fully overhauled French 8-day movement has a lever platform escapement and fold-flat key.
The 1½-inch dial has luminescent dots as five minute markers, and very finely fretted Art Nouveau-style hands. The silver bezel is fitted with slightly domed beveled glass.
