Petite Sonnerie Quarter-striking Carriage clock
A very nice example of a petite sonnerie alarm striking carriage clock, the regilded case with a superb satin sheen.
The eight day alarm movement has the original silvered lever platform escapement and strikes the quarters on two gongs – once for quarter past, twice for half past and three times for quarter to the hour. The hour is struck on one gong, and is repeated at will from the button on the top of the case. The clock has a Sonnerie / Silence switch in the base.
The perfect cream enamel dial has a gilt mask, the two chapter rings with Art Nouveau-styled Arabic numerals. The time dial has a gilt filigree centre, and outer minute track. The alarm dial sits beneath it.
Matching blued steel lancet hands.
The gilded case stands 7½ inches tall with the handle up, with beveled glasses to all sides, all without blemish.
The movement is to be overhauled ad guaranteed for 3 years.
