A Scottish, mahogany, brass-bound and mounted two-day marine chronometer by Christie & Wilson, Glasgow.
The three tier mahogany box has a bone plaque signed CHRISTIE & WILSON, 602, GLASGOW with recessed brass handles and inlaid brass starbursts.
The 102 mm diameter silvered dial has 56-hour up/down power reserve indiction, a subsidiary seconds dial with serial number 602 in the centre and is signed Christie & Wilson, 54 BROOMIELAW, GLASGOW. Number 602 is the second in the series.
Original matching blued steel hands.
The 2-day fusee movement by Mercer has spot-finished plates, Earnshaw-type escapement with steel spring detent and Mercer’s auxiliary, cylindrical compensation weights, palladium helical balance spring.
Complete with tipsy key and box key.
