An attractive antique carriage clock dating from c.1890 incorporating three contrasting metals. The polished and lacquered brass case has fluted columns, the corinthian capitals finished in copper.
The silver dial is well engraved with a floral pattern. It is signed MAPPIN BROTHERS, LONDON (the predecessors of the London jewellers, Mappin & Webb).
All glasses are bevelled and in excellent condition.
The eight-day spring driven movement strikes and repeats on a gong, and the platform retains the original lever escapement. The movement is to be overhauled and guaranteed for 3 years.
